Incoming District 27-C2 Governor, Lion Harry Helwig, called a meeting of all of the Region Chairman, Zone Chairman, and cabinet officers for June 23rd. The purpose was to discuss this years goals and duties. Much of the discussions centered around building membership though extension and member retention. The use of good orientation practices, keeping members involved, and minimizing cliques were ways to help retention. An orientation for new members in the last year will be held in each region on October 27, 2002. The time and place will be announced.

The District Governor called for Three zone meetings to be held this year. He also asked all Zone Chairmen to visit the clubs in their zone. He wants clubs to hold interclub meetings to encourage getting to know each other.

The meeting was well attended and everyone thought the ideas presented were worth the efforts for all Lions.
